Ok for those of you who didn’t get thru the Anugerah auditions (or even if you did) and stated ‘writing songs’ as a hobby, here’s your shot at it. We’re organizing a Songwriting Contest, and for the first time, it comes with a huge cash prize, and your song might just become the single(s) for the likes of Hyrul Anuar, Maiya Rahman, Fauzie Laily, Imran Ajmain, and the top 4 finalists of Anugerah 2009. Cool huh?

Here’s how it works. The theme is “Honouring Women”. (”Menyanjung Kaum Hawa’”) .Write lyrics or lyrics with melody about the wonders, mysteries, and pleasantries of a woman, of women, of womenhood (that includes lover, wife, mother, daughter, or hot chicks in general so you can go crazy). You can write it on your own, or you can write it as a pair. It can be in any genre, any style, any structure. The song must be under 3:45 min and written in Malay. There is a S$10 registration fee (via bank transfer) and it closes 30th June. Your demos can be acapella, with piano, or with guitar, or simply just humming in MP3 or Wav format.
