Kaki5 Folk Akustika : Slowjaxx, Empire & Shine 14.10.2009 ditulis oleh Gumbira
Kaki5 Folk Akustika is presented to you by Klub Kaki5 & Esplanade at The Concourse. Free Admission
7.00 – 7.45pm : Slowjaxx

A founding member of The Stoned Revivals, Esam Salleh remains as the singer/songwriter and guitar player for the band. He dabbles in stripped down acoustic music on his solo project Slowjaxx, cheekily branding his form of music as “void deck rubber soul. He first learned the guitars from his musician/artist dad and served as a bassist for his dad’s instrumental surf band when he was a 13 year old boy.
After years of writing songs in English, Esam began the challenge of writing in his native Malay language. It was an experience he found to be rather refreshing.
8.15 – 9.00pm : Empire/ Shine

With over 20 years of accumulated experiences, Empire, is now, embarking in a new formation and on a new drive to elevate the music industry in Singapore to greater heights. Under the leadership of Zed, who plays bass, Empire is looking ahead to more impeccable performances and hard-hitting music that will engrave the ever-lasting definition that rock never die!

SHINE is a five piece band that has been together since 2000, and with Izzat on vocal/guitar, Eddie on Keyboard, Amin on Bass, Arman on lead guitar and Azmil on drums, they described their music as Reggae / Dub Reggae / Tropical. They also came in 3rd place in The World Battle Of The Band Competition in late October 2006 and were the only band that played reggae music.
