Hirman ‘Kau Cinta’ Album Launch 7th August 2010 ditulis oleh Gumbira none Komen
Folk singer songwriter who infuses his poetry with music releases his album this Saturday.
Hirman started off with English folk songs, performing at local gigs and poetry events since 2006. Recorded a few demos in English independently but didn’t find much satisfaction in it. In 2007 he decided to go back to his roots and started writing in his native language, Malay and found his true self when singing and performing those songs. Having found the spark, he was signed by Hazelbayu Productions and started working on his first album. In 2010 he released his first Malay folk album, titled, Kau Cinta.

Hyrul Anuar’s Album Launch was the much needed ‘Kind of Change’ ditulis oleh Gumbira none Komen

A historic day in the life of an Anugerah Champion who won the title back in 2005. If you do remember it was the season whereby it has the most impact in Singapore. Remember the Anugerah Boys? I bet you do!
Khairul Anuar Mohd Nawar or more popularly known as Hyrul Anuar have finally released his debut album titled, “Sesebuah Perubahan”. (A Certain Kind of Change.) After almost five years of waiting, it’s finally out! An invaluable gift for his fans and supporters out there.
The album launch was held at Hotel Re!, situated at Pearl’s Hill. Beautiful setting, just like what Hyrul wanted. The preparations saw Raudha (Gumbira), Shasha (Hyrul’s cousin) & the Hyrulites Exco getting busy way before the event. Even Hyrul himself.
Such dedication towards his dreams and aspirations, I doubt we can get that in many artistes here. Five years was a long wait but it was definitely a WORTHY one. His blood, sweat and tears; you can feel all these through all the songs in this album. With a variety of genres, including R&B, ballads and ore, it’s worth every cent you invest. Get the album, listen to it with your heart then you will know what I mean. Names like Imran Ajmain, Shah Shamshiri, Andi A Merican, Rafik @Rafikoncept, Sulu Sarawak contributed their magical touch to put the album together. Hyrul even wrote the lyrics for “Sudah Mengapa”, a duet with Mimi from One Nation Emcees.
Fans, invitees, friends and celebrities started to stream in from 4pm onwards. Some familiar faces were Nurul Aini, Alyph Sleeq, Zaibaktian, Shahrin Azhar, Azni Samdin and many more. Members from Sang Singa Purba and also the Gentarasa performers plus Hyrulites were also there to show support! Well, I’m pretty sure he deserved it.
Starting off the event itself was our host, Shah Iskandar who did a great job. Afterwhich, Hydir Idris(guest artiste) entertained the crowd with a medley of Hyrul’s Kesal and Tanda Kasih. What can I say of this small boy with a huge voice? Job well done! A short interview with the guest artiste was then followed by with a speech by the Producer of the album, Imran Ajmain (Gumbira’s Director). I would have to say Imran’s speech moved me. Those emotional words must have strummed the heartstrings of the invitees too and not forgetting Hyrul himself. Very sweet!
A video montage showing the behind-the-scenes of the album photoshoot was flashed on screen. Credits to Izarr and Atiyah from Hyrulites for the fantastic editing!
Finally, Hyrul made his appearance from the back of the ballroom, donning a unique outfit sponsored by Noah Naima from ATZU. The inauguration happened and Hyrul expressed his heartiest thanks to Imran with a nicely-decorated framed album. Mind you, this was done by Hyrul himself!
Hyrul sang four songs off the album, kickstarting with “Popular” and then “Cemburu”. A break in between, why? A special dedication to our Popular Prince, another video montage of his life 20 years ago up till now. Choosing “Sesebuah Perubahan” as the background song was a perfect choice, all of us saw Hyrul tearing, well a little right? Gotcha! Special thanks to Zuraimi (Hyrulites Exco) for this victory video!
It would have been weird if “Sesebuah Perubahan” wasn’t performed live but of course Hyrul did entertain us with this song. (I personally think it’s gonna be a hit!) I saw quite a number of the invitees who were seated shedding tears, you did it Hyrul! You touched their hearts. Now, the last song he performed was his latest single, “Mata”. A cover song given a fresh feel to it, request for it on radio people! Let’s bring it up the charts!
Thanks be to Allah for letting the launch happen. Alhamdulilah. Think of a dedicated, sincere, honest and hardworking local Singaporean singer and Hyrul Anuar will be on the list for sure. Even Imran will agree with me! We are definitely proud of him for all his fantabulous efforts in the making of this album launch. Such a role-model, a true inspiration.

Shining Star Celebrates First Album After A Year ditulis oleh Gumbira none Komen
Held at Mercury Ballroom, Furama Riverfront, the event was hosted by Zan Sofiyan and attended by media friends, a small group of fans who have won themselves a pair of tickets from Mediacorp Suria. Graced by Mr Suhaimi Jais, Senior Vice President of Suria Programming & Promotions and Eaglevision, Mr Edwin Tan, Assistant Executive Producer of Suria Records and Ms Ong Lay Hong, Managing Director of Mediacorp Pte Ltd.
The self titled album, was released first in Malaysia on 24th May, consisting of 5 songs and 5 bonus minus one tracks. Established composers, lyricists and musicians involved in this debut album includes Sharon Paul, Fedtri Yahaya, Mohariz Yaakup, Zulkefli Majid as well as local songwriter/composer Nizamulmuluk. Sarah secured herself a recording deal right after winning Anugerah 2009 which also scored her various performances and acting stints throughout the entire year.
It was a whole brand new experience for Sarah as she stepped in the recording studio during Ramadhan last year. An half hour programme special is expected to be telecast in Suria on the Anugerah winner.

It’s About Time For Aliff Aziz ditulis oleh Gumbira none Komen
It’s been over a year since his ‘Sayang Sayang’ hit brought him across the border. Now, out this month, Aliff is back with a groovier tune “Cinta”. We’ve noticed it on high rotation via Hot FM’s playlist tweet. The album cover of ‘It’s Aliff’s Time’ shows him donning a leather jacket, looking all grown up – a vast difference from his debut. The album is released and distributed by Sony Music (Malaysia).
The pity is that Aliff has just started serving National Service, so we don’t really think it was him to reply to your tweets. And according to his Fanpage, http://twitter.com/AlifAzizReal1 is another case of somebody else borrowing his personality. It’s fake.

We highly disagree with Manja’s (December) review of his latest offering “Syukran”. If you’re a fan of Malaysian nasyid, you might know him by heart. Hailing from the group, UNIC, Hafiz is onto his 2nd album. Infact, he was just awarded with Most Promising Composer 2009 by MACP (that’s equivalent to Singapore’s Compass).
Not really a typical nasyid. Some power ballads, uplifting spiritual songs and a jiggy English number that’s made its way to Turkey’s radio stations. We’re distributing his CDs here in Gumbira! Also do tell us which Malaysian albums you can’t get in Singapore, we’ll get it for you!
