Wawan & Chirul at Cakap Pasal Remaja ditulis oleh Gumbira none Komen
By kind invitation from MUIS, Wawan and Chirul (from Anugerah 2009) got to grace the stage at the opening of Cakap Pasal Remaja Episode 1 at the Singapore Islamic Hub recently. Wawan sang “Indah” and Chirul sang “Setulus Kasih”. Both songs are their first singles coming off Gumbira’s compilation album with Mediacorp titled “Alunan Kasih”.

Shining Star Celebrates First Album After A Year ditulis oleh Gumbira none Komen
Held at Mercury Ballroom, Furama Riverfront, the event was hosted by Zan Sofiyan and attended by media friends, a small group of fans who have won themselves a pair of tickets from Mediacorp Suria. Graced by Mr Suhaimi Jais, Senior Vice President of Suria Programming & Promotions and Eaglevision, Mr Edwin Tan, Assistant Executive Producer of Suria Records and Ms Ong Lay Hong, Managing Director of Mediacorp Pte Ltd.
The self titled album, was released first in Malaysia on 24th May, consisting of 5 songs and 5 bonus minus one tracks. Established composers, lyricists and musicians involved in this debut album includes Sharon Paul, Fedtri Yahaya, Mohariz Yaakup, Zulkefli Majid as well as local songwriter/composer Nizamulmuluk. Sarah secured herself a recording deal right after winning Anugerah 2009 which also scored her various performances and acting stints throughout the entire year.
It was a whole brand new experience for Sarah as she stepped in the recording studio during Ramadhan last year. An half hour programme special is expected to be telecast in Suria on the Anugerah winner.
The bubbly singer will also be performing in “Entertainment on 5″ on 22 June, 7pm at Mediacorp Studio. To get your tickets, send your email to MediaCorp at Eon5@mediacorp.com.sg.

Sarah Aqilah Launches First Album Today! ditulis oleh Gumbira none Komen
Wow, has it seriously been a year?
Anugerah 2009 winner, Sarah Aqilah will be launching her first album under record label, Suria Records. Her first single, ‘Biar Hati Mencintai’ have been in Ria Charts for 20 weeks eversince it was released. Eversince her winning last year, the 26 year old singer have also acted in 10 episode drama, ‘Cinta Ixora’.
She will be revealing the new album to the press in a mini showcase later today.

Mega Perdana Semi Finals 2010 BALQIS
We found a clip of Catty, taken recently, at the Mega Perdana semi-finals. She is the lead vocals for her all-female dikir barat group, Balqis. Catty was one of the finalists of Anugerah 2009 and we hope to hear her record her own original song soon! But this is amazing! Check out her high notes. Go Catty!

We found this video of Anugerah 2009 finalist Hydir Idris singing Aqasha’s “Embun” on Sungguh.com posted on the 21st May! Don’t mind us if we share this around. A local talent like this deserves more than 4 views (as of 4th June). Hydir recently started classes at LaSalle School of Performing Arts and will be releasing his first single (with us, no less!).

Kunjung In The Clouds ditulis oleh Gumbira none Komen
We found this video on our boss’ YouTube page, recording Kunjung on Christmas morning last year. Despite rumours in Manja (January), no thanks to the ambiguous writer, Kak Nam, Kunjung is recording her mini-album as scheduled and is not waiting in line with anybody. Her first single ‘Awangan’ is due to be released soon, as being recorded here by Imran at the Chapter6 studios.
She will also be singing a number from the Alunan Kasih compilation, of which, the results will be announced too shortly! Good luck Kunjung! You can also add her on Facebook too.

A Female Winner for Anugerah 2009! ditulis oleh Gumbira 1 Komen
Anugerah 2009 finally closed its chapter yesterday for the Grand Finals with a female winner!
Congratulations to Sarah Aqilah for winning Anugerah 2009. Sarah belted out ‘Hati Ini Yang Kau Sakiti’ and ‘Rawan’ that won everyone’s heart. Sarah walks away with Champion trophy, recording contract from SRC Sdn Bhd, contract with MediaCorp Artistes Management Unit, $10,000 cash, NIKON COOLPIX P80 worth S$699, Nokia E66 from SingTel.
Kunjung Whitaker took the second place with a recording contract from GUMBIRA, Contract with MediaCorp Artistes Management Unit, NIKON COOLPIX S60 worth S$599 and Sony Ericsson W595 from SingTel.
