Ever wanted to get hold of an independently released record in Singapore and have no idea where to turn to? Seems like the guys from The Bastard Movement has figured a way out, and beautifully, at that too. They have rolled out a brand-new online service that lets you purchase mostly regional indie bands, namely Mocca, Yuna, and our current favourite, The Sallys, for a price set by the bands themselves. That means, the bands have total control over what’s going up on the site and how they are remunerated. (see screenshot). At the time it was launched, 4th January 2010, the Tweet This function seems to have an API error, but nonetheless, the website is pretty, the service is honest, and useful for artistes and fans.

I say not bad for a company who named themselves after the B word. Follow them on their Twitter and see titles roll-out every now and then. This is a great service, and we could only wish for such a website for Malay albums. http://www.blkmarket.sg
